Yes Wonder Woman is spread throughout my blog. Why ? you might ask. Well firstly, she is a feminist icon. Secondly, she is a hero that I relate to. She is strong, has magic powers, and I can use her for my own internal resource, should I need to draw on her.
I ask clients to think of their hero’s, icons, attachment role models, characters on TV, movie moms, or dads that represent their fantasy role models. These resources ( Hero’s or Icons) are then brought into difficult memories during the desensitization phase of (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Every little girl needs a hero and every little boy needs one too. Who, or what is yours?
